Middleburg is building, and we’re keeping up
Clay County has been one of the fastest-growing counties in Northeast Florida. D.R. Horton, Pulte, and Dream Finders are all actively building subdivisions in and around Middleburg. The First Coast Expressway has opened new corridors, and that means more land getting cleared, more driveways being cut, and more property owners improving parcels that were previously too far from the action.
If you’re a contractor working a new subdivision phase or a homeowner clearing five acres off CR-218, we deliver the same level of service, honest equipment matching, machines that show up maintained and fueled, and a direct line to the owner if anything comes up.
T.E.S. Rentals operates out of Starke, roughly 35 minutes from central Middleburg via SR-21. We deliver throughout Clay County and are already running equipment into the Middleburg area regularly.
What we bring to Middleburg job sites
Compact track loaders – The workhorse of land clearing and lot prep. We carry multiple sizes with a full attachment lineup including grapples, brush cutters, and standard buckets. Rubber tracks handle the sandy Clay County ground without tearing it up, critical on residential lots where you’re trying to keep the surrounding area intact.
Mini excavators – Available in 1.7-ton, 3.5-ton, and 5.0-ton classes. Septic installs, drainage channels, utility trenching, and foundation prep are the most common uses we see in Middleburg. The 3.5-ton hits the sweet spot for most residential work.
Full-size excavators – For jobs that need more reach and digging power. Pond construction, deep drainage, large-lot clearing where you’re dealing with mature hardwood root systems, and commercial site work.
Bulldozers – Rough grading, timber pushing, pad establishment. If you’re preparing a multi-acre site for a home, outbuilding, or barn, a dozer gets the big material moved much faster.
Stump grinders – Middleburg lots are typically oak, pine, and sweetgum. Once the timber is down, the stumps need to go. Our grinders turn them to mulch in place, no hauling, no digging.
Trenchers – Irrigation, drainage, well lines, and underground utility runs. Faster and cleaner than trenching with an excavator bucket on shorter runs.
What makes Middleburg projects different
Middleburg sits in a transition zone. The western side toward Keystone Heights is still heavily rural, wooded acreage, agricultural parcels, unpaved roads. The eastern side toward Orange Park and Oakleaf is suburban and rapidly developing with planned communities and infrastructure.
That transition means the equipment needs vary more here than in most of our service area.
New construction lot clearing – Subdivisions popping up along the Branan Field and CR-218 corridors mean builders need land cleared, graded, and prepped on tight timelines. A compact track loader with a brush cutter attachment is the standard starting point for these lots, but mature trees on some parcels require excavator or dozer support.
Acreage parcels along CR-218 and SR-21 – Buyers purchasing five, ten, or twenty-acre tracts to build a home or establish a small farm. These projects often involve a phased approach, clear the homesite first, then expand into fencing, outbuildings, and pasture work over time. We help customers plan which equipment to start with.
Black Creek and low-elevation properties – Some Middleburg properties sit near Black Creek or in lower-lying areas that hold moisture. Drainage work is common, and compact track loaders with their rubber tracks outperform wheeled equipment on soft, saturated ground.
Equestrian and hobby farm setup – Middleburg has a strong equestrian community. Clearing pasture, establishing paddocks, cutting fence lines, and grading riding areas are all jobs that benefit from the right combination of compact track loader and attachments.
How we work
1. You describe the project. Call (904) 452-0888 or fill out the form below. Tell us what you’re working with, the lot size, the terrain, what you’re trying to accomplish, and when you need to start.
2. We recommend equipment honestly. We’ll suggest what fits the job and your experience level. If a compact track loader handles it, we won’t push a dozer. If the scope actually calls for more machine, we’ll explain the reasoning.
3. Equipment arrives ready. Delivery to Middleburg runs about 35 minutes from our Starke location. The machine shows up inspected, fueled, and ready to operate.
4. We stay reachable. If something changes mid-project, scope creep, an attachment question, a mechanical concern, call us directly. No dispatch queue. Same person, same number.
Who we are
T.E.S. Rentals is owned and operated by Zeb out of Starke, FL. Every phone call, every equipment recommendation, every delivery, it all runs through one person who has a direct stake in your project going well. That’s a different experience from calling a national chain or a multi-location operation, and it’s the reason our customers keep coming back.
“Equipment was in great condition. I’ve used them several times.”
Glen D.
