Close enough to be flexible

When your equipment rental company is seven miles away, things work differently. Need an extra attachment dropped off? We can do it on the way to another delivery. Rental running a day longer than planned? Extending is a text message, not a logistical challenge. Want to pick up a smaller piece of equipment yourself? Our yard is a short drive up 301.

That proximity is one of the reasons we’ve built a solid customer base in Lawtey and northern Bradford County. We respond faster because we’re closer, and that matters when you’re trying to keep a project moving.

Equipment available

Compact track loaders – The most requested machine in this part of Bradford County. Clearing overgrown lots, prepping homesites, grading driveways, moving fill material, and cleaning up storm debris. Available with grapple, bucket, and brush cutter attachments to match the job.

Mini excavators – 1.7-ton for tight residential work, 3.5-ton for general excavation, 5.0-ton for deeper digs and harder ground. Septic systems, drainage ditches, and foundation prep are the primary applications in the Lawtey area.

Full-size excavators – For large-scale clearing, pond digging, and deep excavation on the bigger parcels north and west of town.

Stump grinders – Lawtey properties tend to be pine and mixed hardwood. Grinding stumps in place is faster and less disruptive than pulling them with an excavator, and it leaves the ground level and usable.

Trenchers – Irrigation, drainage, and utility line runs. The sandy Bradford County soil trenches cleanly, and a dedicated trencher cuts a more consistent channel than an excavator bucket.

Bulldozers – Rough grading and clearing on larger acreage. Properties along US-301 north of town and on the county roads toward Raiford and the Camp Blanding area are where we see most of the dozer demand.

Lawtey and northern Bradford County

Lawtey is a town of about 900 people. Its economy has roots in agriculture, cotton, tobacco, and strawberries historically, with timber and hay production still active on the land around town. Lake Sampson sits to the south, and the landscape is classic North Florida: flat, sandy, pine-dominated, with pockets of hardwood along creeks and lake margins.

Most of the equipment work we do here falls into a few categories:

Clearing residential lots – Properties in and around Lawtey are affordable compared to Clay or Alachua County, and buyers are purchasing wooded lots to build on. Going from raw land to a buildable pad requires clearing, stump removal, grading, and drainage, work that typically takes a compact track loader and a mini excavator over the course of several days.

Agricultural property work – Fence line clearing, ditch maintenance, access road grading, and pasture improvement. Farmers and landowners in northern Bradford County rent equipment seasonally for this kind of recurring work rather than owning dedicated machines that sit idle most of the year.

Driveway and access road construction – Many properties off the county roads use limerock or dirt driveways that need periodic regrading or initial construction. A compact track loader grades the base properly before material is applied, which makes the driveway last a lot longer.

Improving property after purchase – Buyers who purchase older homesteads or long-idle parcels along 301 often need to clear overgrowth, remove old structures or debris, and reestablish the property before they can use it. A combination of a compact track loader and a stump grinder covers most of this work.
